The ODM party leadership wants the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to come clean on the names of poll officials it will use in the August General Election.
Deputy party leader Hassan Joho (pictured) and director of elections and Suna East MP Junet Mohamed told the electoral body to publish all the names of the Returning and Presiding Officers who will man the process with their detailed background.
They alleged that there were reports of some security personnel being trained to take part in the rigging of forthcoming presidential elections in favor of Jubilee.
“We have details of the meeting that the top security personnel attended. They are under firm orders to announce President Uhuru Kenyatta as the winner in the election,” said Joho.
Addressing a youth forum in Homa Bay town yesterday, the leaders demanded that the IEBC relooks into the already cleaned voter register, claiming that there were still names of ghost voters appearing in it.
Junet alleged that the cleaned voters register contained 3 million ghost voters. “Let the IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati assure Kenyans that the commission is committed to delivering credible electoral process,” he said.
